If you've ever driven a car, you know that there are two readings on your dashboard that you routinely check: the speedometer (hopefully) and the fuel gauge. Ignoring the information presented by these dials is fraught with danger. Yet the feedback that they provide helps make you a better driver. If your speedometer says that you are driving above the posted speed limit, you adjust your speed. If the fuel gauge is pointing to 'empty,' you start looking for a gas station.
Just as your car has a fuel gauge, your body does as well.
