MyPlate Vegetable Groups: Red and Orange

Happy Wednesday Usman!

You know that I’m always excited to share my new creations with you, right? Today I’m even more excited than usual, because we’re going to begin a brand-new blog series!

MyPlate Exploration: Red and Orange Vegetables is the inaugural post for a series that takes a closer look at the MyPlate vegetable group. With 5 subcategories, the vegetable group is a great place to help your clients learn about a varied diet and balanced meals, while introducing them to important nutrients at the same time!

The first blog post in the series examines red and orange vegetables, taking an in-depth look at their nutrient content and health benefits. Then, to make it easier to help your clients incorporate these tasty veggies into their diets, the post features a long list of great recipes with red and orange vegetables. There’s even a handout that covers the highlights of the post, which makes educating your clients about this MyPlate veggie subgroup a snap!

Oh, and speaking of a series, the winner of the January poster contest has finally been announced. This year the contest took place on our Facebook page, but the results are all in the post January Poster Contest Winner Revealed! Take a look at some of the top portion pitfalls that health professionals face, and find brand-new resources to help make solutions to those problems a reality!

I hope you enjoy it!
