Are Dietitians Coming Around? | Every five years "they" update the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Why care? Well, it actually matters as far as what people are taught about what "healthy eating" is, what kids are fed in schools, and a whole host of other things. These are the guidelines that basically used to say "eat all the carbohydrate you want and avoid fats at all cost". So I'm always interested in how they have been edging away from that (slowly slowly). This year the dietitians seem to be out in front of the guidelines committee as far as carbs, fats, salt, and a few other things. Eat healthy this week! Laura | | |
