When the Experts Disagree

Even though I would think that by now we would be realizing that since a variety of diet approaches are safe and effective, the new frontier is to figure out which diets work for which people.  And yet, no - experts are really still fighting over "which diet is best" - sigh.  The low-carb community is abuzz with a dietitian in Australia who lost her license.  Although the organization is keeping its reasons on the murky side, there is evidence that if she hadn't promoted carbohydrate restriction she's still have her license.  On the other hand, we have a new analysis of diet research data which shows, once again, the safety and effectiveness of low-carb diets. We also know that low-carb diets work especially well for people on the diabetes spectrum, which is now most adults.  But there are plenty of experts who will not acknowledge this, even though the American Diabetes Association endorses low-carb diets as a valid approach. Is it any wonder people are confused? Don't YOU be confused - stick to what you have learned makes you healthy!  Laura
