From Fiona Haynes, your Guide to Low Fat Cooking
Halloween is just around the corner, so here are some lower-fat sweet treats to make for your Halloween gatherings, along with a selection of warm, comforting meals to keep the chilly weather at bay.

Halloween Thumbprint Cookies
These Halloween cookies are a chocolatey twist on thumbprint cookies, only with much less butter. And instead of topping these cookies with jam or a chocolate kiss, they're topped with pieces of candy corn or candy pumpkins.

Mini Popcorn Balls
I find big popcorn balls hard to eat, so here are some bite-sized popcorn balls that are just as sweet, only more manageable to eat, and of course, lower in fat. Now this is one messy recipe (which for kids makes it all the more fun!), so be sure to spray your, or your kids', hands with nonstick cooking spray to avoid a big gooey mess.

Halloween Sugar Cookies
These buttery delights contain only about half the butter called for in most sugar cookie recipes yet still produce a sweet and satisfying sugar cookie. Red and orange food coloring gives these cookies an orange hue.

Weeknight Meals for Chilly Evenings
As we head into chillier fall evenings, warm up with these comforting yet healthy meals the whole family will enjoy.
