How much salt is in your soup?

Hi Usman!

You already know that salt is a health topic of some note. Countless studies have linked high sodium consumption to a wide variety of ills, especially as they relate to heart health. So I put together a new post that takes a look at one of the big sources of hidden sodium — soup.

In How Much Salt is in Your Soup?, you will find a rundown of the health risks associated with a high-sodium diet and look at the impact of sodium on health. There are also ways to reduce sodium and my top 5 soup recipes. These recipes are perfect for cooking demonstrations or speedy handouts. You can also prepare samples at home and then bring them to your next session. The samples make equally-good health fair booth lures.

So check out the post, get your copy of the handout that comes with it, and let me know what you think!

Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you, there are new Nutrition Nuggets available today!

Healthfully yours,
