Study: Sore Knees? This Fix Doesn't Cost a Dime

The body's joints aren't really designed to carry the weight of an obese person, and a new study has confirmed it. Researchers studied more than 500 overweight and obese Americans with risk factors for osteoarthritis, like knee pain and the loss of knee cartilage. After four years, study participants who lost more than ten percent of their bodyweight had a far slower rate of cartilage loss and their knee pain had significantly improved.
