From Paige Waehner, your Guide to Exercise

Of all the excuses I've heard for skipping workouts ('It's raining and I don't want to get wet walking to my car,' 'My gardener showed up a half-hour early...I don't want to just leave him alone in the flower beds!' or, one of my personal favorites, 'I've figured out that I really hate exercise!') , this one is the best:  "My stress ate my workouts!"

I didn't realize stress could do that until this client pointed it out.  She said that she was working out just fine until her job got really crazy and her parents got sick and her husband started traveling more and she realized that her stress was so all-encompassing, that it was eating her workouts.  And worse?  It was depositing those extra fat calories all over her body.

There is a way to kill stress and not even go to jail for it.  And, no, it's not tequila.

But tequila can help.  I'm not going to lie.

I'm Too Stressed to Exercise!
Have you ever gotten so stressed out that your only goal is to get through the day without a) Killing someone, b) Stabbing yourself in the eye with a rusty fork and/or c) Crawling under the bed to the comforting softness of the dustballs that have been collecting there since the 80s?

Are You an Exercise Perfectionist?
Perfectionism can also cause stress, mostly because it is impossible to be perfect.  Believe me, I know this because I've tried over and over and over.  Please, learn from my mistakes and give yourself a break.

Top Health Benefits of Exercise
Exercise not only reduces stress, it makes your whole body happy, even if your mind is a mess of worry and confusion and unfocused anger.  At least your body can be on the right track, right?
