Persistent Depressive Disorder
Not quite two years ago, a new psychiatric diagnostic manual, the DSM-5, was published. There were many changes in it from the previous manual, and one of these was the combination of two prior disorders, Dysthymia and chronic Major Depression, into one illness, Persistent Depressive Disorder.

 

Persistent Depressive Disorder
Persistent Depressive Disorder is depression that lasts at least two years with no more than a 2-month letup. It is a combination of two older diagnoses.
