The American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, along with other authorities including NHLBI, announced new guidelines for the management of blood cholesterol yesterday. We have an updated article here. It has a free infographic handout for the new treatment guidelines plus links to the official press releases, calculators and guidelines from the American College of Cardiology. Our dietitian editor is working on another article, too. http://foodandhealth.com/new-cardiovascular-disease-prevention-guidelines/ The Nutrition Nuggets this week feature our new 6 Lesson Heart Program and many other heart health materials to help lower blood pressure and cholesterol. All materials will be up to date with these guidelines. High blood pressure, high LDL cholesterol and obesity/overweight put people at higher risk for heart attack. Now is your time to shine to help them. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
