About

St. Patrick's Day may be a literal celebration of a saint, but whiskey, merriment, and traditional Irish foods are important components of its tradition. From Beef and Guinness Pie to Bailey's Irish Cream Cheesecake to a great pint of Irish beer, we've found dozens of delicious ways for you to enjoy this March holiday. Don't forget to start your day with the boozy buzz of an Irish coffee (and finish it with one, too!).

Where's the Beef?
If there's one meaty entree associated with Irish cuisine and St. Patrick's Day, it would have to be corned beef. Whether enjoyed with cabbage, or piled high on a sandwich with Russian dressing, we can't get enough of this old school dish gone deli favorite. Try it for breakfast as a hash with eggs.

Potato, Potato
We couldn't be more glad that the Irish Potato Famine is long gone, and we're seriously ready to get our tater on. We can't get enough of them mashed, scalloped, or casserole-style. For more about how potatoes have played into Irish history click here.

Can't Beat the Classics
Cabbage and soda bread, mutton and stew. The traditional foods of Ireland are hearty, warming, and often easy to prepare. Start with a proper Irish breakfast or a warm basket of Irish Soda Bread to complement your meal.

Whiskey, Beer, and More
The Irish are known for their love of beer and whiskey, but they've got an impressive roster of sweets, too. You can even combine them in treats such as Chocolate Stout Cupcakes with Irish Cream Frosting or Guinness and Orange Chocolate Cake. Yum! If you're not yet ready to go outside your comfort zone with Irish foods, you can always just go the route of sticking with green foods.
