From Laura Dolson, your Guide to Low Carb Diets
There is such a focus on our bodies, particularly our weight, these days. On the one hand, we all want to be as healthy as we can be, and weight loss can be a positive part of that. On the other hand, people have pretty much been torturing themselves on a daily basis about their weight, and there is nothing at all positive about that. This week I bring you stories from both sides of the weight loss coin. Also, does it seem to you that the news brings us stories of people trapped in floods almost constantly now? With natural disasters seeming to loom everywhere, make sure you have your emergency stash of low-carb food. Have a great week - Laura

Watch Amanda Lose Weight
A couple of years ago a woman named Amanda lost 88 pounds on a low-carb ketogenic diet, and took photos of herself along the way. Recently someone assembled them into a a very cool 5-second GIF which has gone viral. I can't post it on my site, but I've linked to it on my blog.

Weight Loss Consultant Apologizes
On the other side of the weight loss coin, a former weight loss consultant for a unnamed company feels really bad about the advice she gave people to follow low-calorie diets over the years. It's quite moving. I add my two cents.

Are you Losing Fat, or Just Losing Weight?
Did you know that two people can have the exact same height and weight, but very different amounts of body fat? When we say we want to lose weight, we really mean we want to lose fat.

Low-Carb Emergency Food
The horrible flooding in Colorado, with so many people trapped in their homes, roads washed out, waiting for help, reminded me that we ALL should have a stash of shelf-stable food in case of emergencies.
