About

Ahh, springtime: warmer weather, cute baby animals and pretty flowers. Also, a winterized house that's in dire need of a total scrub down and a major refresh. Get the dust bunnies out of your ears and listen up: we've got the easiest, quickest ways to get your home spic 'n' span and ready for spring. If only I could apply the same methods to prepping for bathing suit season. Sigh.

Cleaning the Kitchen
If you're anything like me, you spent the majority of winter huddled up in the kitchen, prepping for hibernation by making big comfort meals and eating everything within reach. And now everything is coated in a fine layer of flour and the grout is stained from hot sauce. It's time to trade your cookbook for an all-purpose cleaner and start cleaning! Grab your favorite cleaning supplies—or make your own—and start scrubbing the oven, refrigerator and stovetop. And don't forget to battle any stinky smells!

Cleaning the Bathroom
In the winter, the only thing worse than a cold toilet seat is a dirty, cold toilet seat. Lucky for you, I've rounded up the complete guide to giving your bathroom a good scrubbin'. From the bathtub, to the toilet, to the bathroom fixtures, our Housekeeping Expert has quick and easy ways to get your loo sparkly clean again. Unfortunately, I can't help with the cold toilet seat ... but perhaps you should look into a heated toilet seat.

Cleaning the Living Room
You had a living room once. Remember? Now, it's buried under a pile of blankets, winter coats and partially completed crafts you tried to do with your kids on snow days. Start by getting all of those seasonal clothes stored away. OMG, you have furniture! Give the entire room a good dusting, including your electronics; clean your drapes and blinds (hey, there's a first time for everything); and clean your furniture, whether it's leather or fabric.

Cleaning the Bedroom
I'm not sure about you guys, but after this winter, I never want to see a sweater again. Start spring cleaning your bedroom by tackling the closet. Storing your seasonal clothing not only keeps your closet neat and organized, but it'll help you forget about all of those horrible mornings spent trudging through slush, too. Once your stuff is stored and the closet is organized, cleaning the bedroom is essentially the same as cleaning the living room—just give the place a good dusting and clean any wood or glass surfaces. You can also try swapping your heavy winter bed linens for lighter, airier fabrics to give the room a spring-y makeover.
