Try this: Stand up out of your seat, sit back down, and time how many times you can do that in one minute. In a British study of 2,766 middle aged adults, it was found that the lowest score was about 21 stands per minute and the highest around 38. Thirteen years later, those who had the lowest score were twice as likely to have died from any cause as those with a higher speed!
