 About.com has finished the first part of redesigning the site.  The most exciting changes are still ahead, but the main thing that has happened so far is that our blogs are no longer.  So I have been busy figuring out which of the content of the last 9 years of my blog should be saved and integrated with the rest of my site.  These are some of the blog posts which will now be categorized with the rest of the information on the site, plus some info to help you on your summer travels.  Have a healthy happy week - Laura

What is Diet Success?

 Jonathan Bailor is an author and podcaster who interviewed me last year about this topic.  Is weight loss the only measure of success?  How much weight loss?  What other measures should we take into account?  Also, Jonathan has started a Web series on the topic "The Quest to End the Calorie Myth". The first episode was posted yesterday, and new ones will appear each Sunday for the next 6 weeks.


Should We Worry About Salt?

 How bad is salt really?  Especially for low-carbers?  I wrote about this when new guidelines came out last year.

Perhaps decades before the diagnosis of diabetes, the process of diabetes way before the diagnosis of diabetes, or even pre-diabetes. From my blog in 2010, an important "consensus statement" and Web site have been developed to inform physicians about the damage in our pancreas that happens in the very early stages of this process. It's quite likely that this damage contributes to the beginnings of weight gain.
