Now that summer is officially underway, let's take a look at some cool ways to do yoga.

On the Water: SUP Yoga
The stand-up paddle boarding craze isn't going anywhere, and neither is its off-shoot, SUP Yoga. This activity can be found just about everywhere there's a large body of water. See what happened when a landlubber (that's me) took to the high seas (a very calm lake, actually) for a yoga class.

In the Water: Aqua Yoga
I was surprised how much I enjoyed yoga in the water when I tried it. Though therapeutic for people who have trouble moving on dry land, aqua yoga has a lot to offer anyone who does yoga. It's increasingly available at YMCAs and health clubs with pools.

In the Mountains: Yoga Festivals 2014
Summer festival season is in full swing. One of the biggest, Wanderlust, uses ski resorts in the off season for a cool setting.

Be a Mountain: Tadasana Pose
At SYTAR, I took a class with Judith Hanson Lasater on untucking your tail in many poses, including tadasana, in order to preserve the natural curves of the spine, which can get flattened out by too much sitting. Try it!
