 June often brings a flurry of parties -- graduations and other end-of-school parties, Father's Day, and "beginning of summer" get-togethers. Does lots of celebrating mean lots of carbs? Absolutely not! We can sail through with normal blood sugar and still have a great time! Have a wonderful weekend (I'll be baking a birthday cake, among other festive activities) - Laura

Low-Carb Party Foods

 Are you planning a party, or going to one? You'll be happy to know there are lots of different party foods that are low in carbohydrate. Here are some of my favorites.


Sugar-Free Cocktails
Time for a mojito, margarita, or strawberry daiquiri, with or without the alcohol! See also Alcoholic Beverages on a Low-Carb Diet, and Beer on a Low-Carb Diet.

Low-Carb Cocktail Sauce

 Shrimp or crab cocktail is a great low-carb choice - but did you know that bottled cocktail sauce can have as much as 6 grams of sugar in a tablespoon? This has just one and is just as good. Plus you can mix it up in two minutes.


Super-Easy Guacamole
This recipe has shortcuts like salsa from a jar, but everyone always loves it. Great as a dip for vegetables (think cucumber, pepper strips, jicama.)
