From Laura Dolson, your Guide to Low Carb Diets

Though some still insist on calling it a "fad", it's clear that many people do better without gluten.  Personally, my health improved dramatically when I got rid of gluten in my diet.  I think it's important for low-carbers to be aware of, because it's possible that some of the benefits you are getting from your diet change come from a reduction in gluten.  Also, a common myth about low-carb eating i sthat it has to be boring - some even claim that's why it works!  You'll never stick to a boring food plan in the long run -- so make sure yours isn't!  Have a great week - Laura

Is Gluten a Problem for You?

A lot of people are going gluten-free these days. What is gluten, anyway? Should you avoid it? I found out almost 20 years ago that I am sensitive to gluten. Interestingly, it's turning out that there are a few different types of sensitivity to gluten, and it may affect many more people than was previously thought. My buddy Jane Anderson, the About.com Guide to Celiac Disease, has a series of articles about gluten sensitivity, and also gluten and weight loss. They are definitely worth checking out, and I recommend her whole site.

How to Avoid Low-Carb Boredom

A common complaint about low-carb eating (or any healthy eating, for that matter) is "it's boring".  Getting into the rut of eating the same thing day after day may work for a few people, but most of us need variety, and its healthier, too!
