 Can a low-carb diet lengthen our lives?  Well, if it helps prevent or treat diabetes it certainly can!  But there is actually a bit of preliminary evidence that it may help at a more basic, genetic level.  Also, be careful when exercising in the summer heat!  Make sure you are staying hydrated. Enjoy the summer and have a great week - Laura

 Dr. Cynthia Kenyon thinks so.  Her research points to the possibility that sugar may be switching on "bad genes" and that eating low-carb may switch on some life-extending ones.  It's only a theory, but it's enough to get Dr. Kenyon to cut the carbs!
