I know this newsflash is very old news to long-time low-carbers, but I sure wish
 the word would get out to more people - carbs make us hungry!   And even when we aren't hungry, they make us want to eat anyway!  This week I bring you the latest science about this.  Also, you may notice that my About.com Web site looks a lot different!  The redesign that has been rolled out to other About.com sites should come to the Health sites today or tomorrow.  I'm sure it will take longtime readers a bit to get used to, but I think it is a great improvement overall.  Have a happy, healthy week - Laura

Try Adding Some Cinnamon to Your Food
Who would have thought that plain old cinnamon could be so good for you? The nutrition and health benefits of cinnamon, along with recipes. It could be especially beneficial for diabetics and those who are insulin resistant. In fact I know diabetics who swear by it to help control blood sugar.

Are Dried Cranberries OK for Us?

I see dried cranberries in a lot of things these days, particularly salads.  You probably know they have sugar in them, but how much?  Answer: a LOT!  Happily, I'm starting to see more reduced-sugar and sugar-free options, and I also developed a method for making them.
